At Brisbane Motor Museum, exhibits don't sit still. Every three months, our museum transforms with a completely new theme, bringing together vehicles, objects and stories that explore automotive history from a fresh perspective.
Some exhibits lean into nostalgia. Others spark debate. All are designed to be experienced while they're here.

Icons & Legends brings together the cars that defined their time, captured imaginations, and earned a lasting place in automotive history.
Spanning the 1960s through to the 1990s, this exhibit celebrates vehicles that became symbols of their era through distinctive design, memorable performance, cultural influence, motorsport success, innovation, rarity, or sheer popularity.
Some were family favourites seen on roads everywhere. Others were dream cars, performance heroes, luxury flagships, motorsport greats, or unconventional standouts that challenged expectations.
1960s legends brought new levels of style, performance, freedom, and excitement to the road.
1970s machines combined bold design, muscle, individuality, and unmistakable character.
1980s favourites embraced technology, sharp styling, turbocharged performance, and a new generation of automotive culture.
1990s icons blended sophistication and engineering with cars that would go on to become modern classics.
Together, they tell the story of five decades of automotive change through the vehicles people remember, admire, and continue to celebrate today.
Whether remembered from the family driveway, the racetrack, a bedroom poster, a favourite film, or simply as a car you always wanted to own, Icons & Legends celebrates the machines that became more than just cars — they became part of the culture.
Each exhibit runs for approximately three months. Once it's gone, it's gone to make room for the next theme. If something catches your eye, put it in your calendar.
Our exhibit is curated, not crowded.
Our exhibits aren't built around how many vehicles we can fit into our space. Instead, each vehicle is intentionally selected by our team because it fits the story we're telling in that particular exhibit. Whether that's an era, a design philosophy or a cultural shift.

Not every vehicle you see inside our museum belongs to us. Our exhibits are shaped by vehicles and objects sourced from far and wide, from local collectors to interstate owners who are willing to share a piece of automotive history for a limited time.
Each car, motorcycle or object is selected because it fits the story we're telling in that particular exhibit, not because it's part of a permanent collection.
